Between the 13th and 17th of February 2017, 109 designers known as 'Weapons of Mass Communication' dedicated themselves to the creation of discussions on sustainability and how to better our society for an environmentally stable future. Whilst this topic has been in open discussion for many years, recent political events on a local and global scale have forced this discussion to grow quiet. Society seems more and more segregated from itself. The group behind Weapons of Mass Communication were unsettled by this fact and believed that discussion needs be brought back to the table and valued. It believed that discussion above all else can prompt a change in human behaviours.
As a creative director of Weapons Of Mass Communication, I constructed and instructed the brief for our designers in order for each one of them to create something that was outwardly facing and create engaging conversation within the public domain.
WOMC and Public! Notice! was created in collaboration with Abbie Swan, Eva Gilder, Giulia Findlay Wilson and Mook Attanath.
